HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID - Rust & Scale Remover

Developed for Rapid and Thorough Cleaning of Heat Transfer Surfaces

DESCRIPTION

HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID is designed to remove rust and water scale from heat transfer surfaces. It is a non-volatile liquid made from liquid acid, inhibitors, and wetting agents. This product is effective for cleaning heat transfer equipment and for lime removal in cargo holds. It is inhibited to prevent attack on metals, except aluminum, zinc, and magnesium.

APPLICATION

The cleaning method depends on the rust and scale thickness, equipment size, and conditions. Follow these general procedures:

  1. Fill the equipment with a solution of 1-3 liters of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID per 10 liters of water. Circulate for 8-16 hours.
  2. Flush with fresh water to remove particulate matter and soluble salts.
  3. Circulate a 1% solution of HOLDCHEM ALKACLEAN LIQUID for an hour to neutralize acids. Ensure pH remains above 8. If it drops, add more ALKACLEAN LIQUID.
  4. Drain and flush twice with fresh water.
USAGE

HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID can be used for cleaning boilers, condensers, economizers, evaporators, cooling systems, and more. Follow these tips:

  • Soaking method: Fill the system and soak for up to 24 hours if circulation isn't possible.
  • Speed up cleaning by maintaining solution temperature between 60°C and 77°C.
  • Pretreat with a 5% solution of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID for 24 hours if oily compounds are present.
  • Use 20 liters of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID to remove 10 kilograms of calcium-carbonate scale.

It can be used for cleaning boilers, condensers, economizers, evaporators, cooling systems, heat transfer equipment, and for lime removal in cargo holds.
General application steps:
  1. Fill the equipment with a solution of 1-3 liters of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID per 10 liters of water. Circulate for 8-16 hours.
  2. Flush with fresh water to remove particulate matter and soluble salts.
  3. Circulate a 1% solution of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID for an hour to neutralize acids, ensuring pH remains above 8.
  4. Drain and flush twice with fresh water.
HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID is inhibited to prevent attack on most metals except aluminum, zinc, and magnesium. Avoid using it on equipment made from these metals.
If circulation isn't possible, fill the system with the descaling solution and let it soak for up to 24 hours to remove rust and scale effectively.
The cleaning process can be accelerated by maintaining the solution temperature between 60°C and 77°C during circulation.
Yes, if oily compounds are present, pretreat by boiling out with a 5% solution of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID or using HOLDCHEM ALKACLEAN LIQUID for up to 24 hours before descaling.
Approximately 20 liters of HOLDCHEM DESCALING LIQUID are required to remove 10 kilograms of calcium-carbonate scale.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and protective clothing. Ensure proper ventilation and avoid contact with incompatible metals like aluminum, zinc, and magnesium.
